Chapters offer the chance for involvement in projects and activities within the local state forest. Working closely together as a Chapter, members can effectively promote friendly, harmonious and productive relationships in the state forest and sponsor activities and fundraisers benefiting the local forest. Chapters provide an important linkage between Florida Division of Forestry management staff, user groups and supporters of the local state forest.
Blackwater River State Forest
The Blackwater River Chapter is currently being establised. For membership information contact the Chapter Coordinator and Friends Region I Director
The Withlacoochee Chapter has had the challenge and the distinction of becoming the first local chapter of Friends of Florida State Forests (FFSF). Chapter members have all of the opportunities and advantages of membership in the Friends of Florida State Forests plus the additional ability to have a clear and positive impact on the local forest. We have the opportunity to develop our own membership, raise our own funds, determine where those funds will be spent, and work directly with local Division of Forestry (DOF) staff to make our dreams and goals realities.
The future success of the Chapter will rest with the general membership and their efforts and contributions to the core committees: Public Relations, Membership, Fund Raising, and Projects and Improvements.
We welcome all new members and any input or suggestions you might have for us. If you'd like more information or have any questions, please contact the Program Coordinator.
